Founded in 2018
Midland Classic Theatre Company is a non-profit organization bringing classic theatre and education to the community in Midland, Texas. We perform at community events offering opportunities for local actors, directors, patrons and sponsors alike.
A message from our Founder….
“When I founded Midland Classic Theatre Company in 2018, it was my dream and vision to bring quality classical theatrical performances to my community, an area that I felt was sadly lacking. As a classically trained actor, I felt there was a need to bring to my community an art that all people could have access to, regardless of background or means as opposed to only the limited few who could travel to out of town venues.
‘Shakespeares Birthday Bash’ was born from this dream, and with a small group of local actors we performed for the first time as a Company in April 2019. This event was an overwhelming success and we have enjoyed large audiences in subsequent years, proving that there is indeed a place and a need for Classic theatre here in the Permian Basin.
We currently work in partnership and support of several local non-profits including the Arts Council and the George Bush Library, where we have performed as a Company to both educate and entertain.
Our goal as we move forward as a Company is to secure a home for Midland Classic Theatre Company, in the form of both an inside and outside Theatre, serving as a permanent fixture to offer the community a full season of events, providing an inclusive space for education and enjoyment of the classics! -
